Initially, I was only getting this error on all videos on The Hill's website (see image), but it is beginning to appear on additional sites. All I have been able to find on the Web is that the error is related to jwplayer, but nothing about what is causing it. Since no one else seems to have reported the problem, so any suggestions about what I might do would be appreciated. I have looked for jwplayer add-ons for Firefox and came up blank.

This is a link to my university video courses: =com_videos&view=video&id=14444&Itemid=53&lang=hewhen I enter a video I get the following error message: "Error loading player: No playable sources found".when I enter the web console I can see the following error message:"Cannot play media. No decoders for requested formats: application/vnd.apple.mpegurl".I disabled all of my add-ons/plugins and the video still doesn't play.what can I do?in chrome I can see the videos but I want to use firefox.Thank you in advance
YouTube works fine. Other websites play videos, no problem. But then I'll go to a website and see a message that the video is either corrupt or is not supported. When I search for how to play mp4 in Firefox I end up at this site: -state-of-html5-firefox-now-supports-mp4/With the huge headline Firefox Now Supports MP4. No, it ****ing doesn't!A bit frustrated, because everywhere I look for help on this, I either come across pages saying it should work, Firefox supports mp4 etc, OR forums where it's webmakers asking the question and then the solution is something wrong in their coding - which doesn't help me, the lonely end user. When I go to this suggested test site: -videos/small.mp4I get the error message: Video can't be played because the file is corrupt. No, it's not. I can download it and play it on WinAmp.When I go to this suggested test site: -h-264-video-test/I get the error: No video with supported format and MIME type found.Huh? Again, I can download and play it fine. But Firefox won't play it. SooooooIs there a fix in the wind?Is there something I can tweak or change to make Firefox recognize and play this stuff? Is there a plugin/extension/addon that I need to download to play mp4?If this is a known problem that is going to be fixed eventually, is there something I can do as a substitute (ie a plugin for now)?Because it seems like the only alternative is to abandon Firefox and start using Chrome, which has no problem with the above-mentioned videos.
cor-el - My COMPUTER plays mp4 just fine. It's FIREFOX that does not play it. I can download the same videos that Firefox won't play and then play them on WinAmp. Windows Media Player won't play it, but it plays in Internet Explorer and Chrome. But WAIT! Your tip about checking about:config seems to have worked.media.windows-media-foundation.enabled was set to false (bold) so I double-clicked and restarted Firefox and these test videos are working now!So yay! :DNo idea how it got flipped.Thank you very much!
The issue isn't with FF. It's with the Enhancer for YouTube addon. There's a setting called "Pause videos playing in background tabs when a video starts playing in the foreground tab". For some reason when using this addon with the other browsers this box isn't ticked by default. Untick this box and you're good to go. This thread can be closed.
Your first suggestion is likely a problem with the JWplayer is at the top of my suspects since no changes were made to any blockers or settings. Erratic behavior is that some videos on Accuweather's menu screen show small "previews" working but not all and the large videos will not play. I will report back on this later today and appreciate your thorough advice. Thank you.
I currently use version 46.0.1and somethings are different in a good way but unless I am completely stupid and fail to see what use to be right under my nose, a survey site that uses the 'jwplayer' (? thats the logo it shows) and video in the format of mp4's dont, wont and cant play in firefox like they use to. I investigated and found I have no plugins to play video content. There is listed : ÖpenH264 ? and Primetime decryption modules, Adobe Acrobat and Shockwave. Thats it - thats all there is.Did I miss something or have you included the java inside firefox itself so we dont have to worry about updating it constantly?Could omeone tell me which rock I need to look under for it , or what is happening to it. 2ff7e9595c
